Hourmark exists because most watch coverage is either a specification list or a press release. Neither helps someone decide what to put on their wrist tomorrow morning.
How we choose
Wearability before spec sheets
A watch that reads well on paper and badly on a wrist is a bad watch. We weigh lug-to-lug, thickness and bracelet taper above movement pedigree, because those are what you feel every day.
Short lists, held open
A collection here holds a handful of watches, not fifty. If nothing in a category deserves a recommendation at a given price, we leave the slot empty rather than fill it.
Commission never sets the order
Affiliate rates vary between products. Our rankings do not. If a lower-paying watch is the better buy, it goes first, and we say why.
We say what a watch is bad at
Every review carries a 'think twice if' section. A recommendation with no downside listed is marketing, not editorial.
How this site makes money
Hourmark earns a commission when a reader buys through an Amazon link on this site. There are no sponsored reviews, no paid placements in collections, and no brand has approval over anything published here.
